BLAZIN MIXTAPE: Gangsta Boo heats up the Summer with her new mixtape “Its Game Involved”

There has recently been a reemergence of female rappers in Hip-Hop over the past couple years and we’re all for it.. Rap has pretty much been an all boys club for the past 10 years, so we welcome the ladies back into the forefront of Hip Hop so that we can have a more diverse and dynamic environment opposed to the one-trick-pony trend that seems to be lingering around Hip Hop lately with everyone pretty much rapping about the same things and the media praising the same artists over and over.. Which now brings me to Memphis, TN legend Gangsta Boo..

The 19th Annual Essence Festival was in full swing these past few days and brought out some of R&B’s biggest and brightest singers and performers. Maxwell, Brandy, Blackstreet and many more all graced the Essence stage with amazing performances over the weekend and these three ladies surely kept that trend going as well with their stellar performances at the event. Faith Evans brought her “R&B Divas” crew out to the event and she performed a solo set that brought the crowd to it’s feet. Tamia also brought her angelic voice to the stage and performed a great set of old and new material. Queen B herself was the headliner of the event and the biggest act of the weekend, Beyonce did it how only she can do.

B-Rocka was just recently in New Orleans over the weekend for the 19th annual Essence Festival, at the event that draws over 400,000 people Brandy took to the stage and brought the crowd to its feet as she performed a dynamic set of all of her older classic as well as her new material from her current project 2/11. After her performance Brandy took to the press room for a Q and A session and also spoke on her career as well as the current state of R&B.

ATLien and R&B bad boy Bobby Valentino has been kind of flying steady on the radar lately but since his recent appearance on BET’s hit reality show Love & Hip Hop Atlanta he has had a lot of people asking “Where in the hell has Bobby V been?”.. Well Bobby V has released his single titled “Back To Love” that’s starting to make it’s rounds but it’s his unreleased joint titled “Parking Lot” that’s really starting to get people talking..
