The reality TV melting pot just got a lil more colorful as the Oxygen Network gives the green light for the new series ‘The Prancing Elite Project’ that kind of mirrors Lifetime’s hit show ‘Bring It’…but with a twist. From their small dance studio in Jackson, Mississippi Ms Dee and her Dancing Dolls were able to push the south’s popular hip hop majorette dance style into the mainstream using the Lifetime network as the vehicle..and now Alabama’s ‘Prancing Elites’ are ready to take it to the next level and pickup where the ‘Dolls’ left off..

The Prancing Elites is a team of five gay men from Mobile and Baldwin counties who practice a style of dance called J-setting, featuring distinctly feminine attire and moves. The group’s appearances have inspired divergent reactions locally: Their appearance in the Semmes Christmas Parade last December shocked some onlookers and they consequently were eliminated from Mobile’s official New Year’s Eve celebrations.
