Diggy Simmons and Teyana Taylor bring “The Start Up” to BET and Kirk Franklin takes a stab at ratchet reality TV with “Gone Gospel”

BET just released their new official programming line-up and while a few fan favorites such as The Real Husbands Of Hollywood, Being Mary Jane, 106 & Park, and The Game have all been renewed for new seasons, there are also a batch of new shows being added to the roster that may peak your interest…

Leading the pack is Diggy Simmons, Bria Murphy and vocal powerhouse Teyana Taylor whose “The Start Up” just got the green light and is said to be the most anticipated of the upcoming season, in ‘The Start Up’ Diggy plays a tech savvy guy named “Blake” who starts an entertainment blog “TheJetsetters.com” and goes through the in’s and out’s of being successful in the entertainment world with his diverse click of friends and associates..

Also dipping their foot into the ratchet reality TV world is gospel king Kirk Franklin who will be taking a batch of R&B and Hip hop artists and putting them all in one house to live together while they try to covert over to being gospel artists in a “Making The Band” type of competition… Sounds like a few new ratchet reality stars will be born from that series for sure so Ima keep an eye out for that one.

Rounding out the bunch is BET’s new dating show “Got Game” where they’ll be transforming seemingly attractive people into ugly ducklings before sending them out on random dates to see if they can use their personalities to get people to like them instead of their looks, it sounds sort of like Oxygen’s “Celebrities Undercover” but we’ll see how this and the rest play out as they hit the small screen in the coming months.

In The Start Up, hip-hop prince Diggy Simmons makes his scripted series debut as Blake Monroe, founder of TheJetsetters.com, an entertainment and lifestyle blog. The Start Up hones in on what it means to be young, gifted and digital, as Blake and his friends strategize for fame and financing while they navigate the freedoms and pressures of adulthood. Also stars Teyana Taylor, Bria Murphy, Allen Maldonado, Chris Brew, and Stephanie Charles.
