You obviously see this completely different than most of us do. I’m not holding anything to Ms. E. other than what I’ve seen. Like I said, I was Team E at the start, but as the shows progressed, I’ve seen a side of her that isn’t what was originally portrayed.

Was it wrong what Braxton did? YES! No one is disputing that. What I have a problem is with the kind of thinking that Ms. E. is automatically a victim because he left her. You can speculate as to whether or not they’re happy…doesn’t matter. All I can see is that Ms. E. has never moved on. Her attitude towards Braxton has always been a little on the shady side. And you’re right, she doesn’t have to like him….but after 35 years…(but as a Christian) if you haven’t found a way to forgive and find your own happiness, it turns to bitterness, plain and simple.

Ive been watching since season 1. One season Mr.Braxton shared his side of the story and it made complete sense to me.

Evelyn showed issues of bitterness when she refused to take a family trip including Mr.Braxton and Wanda 15+ odd years later? That clearly shows signs of bitterness. She, at least at that time, had still not made peace with the situation.

I am not condoning Mr.Braxton cheating and how he went about things but when he shared his version of the story, he really felt trapped and like he wasn’t being heard in the marriage among other toxic matters. His safe place was with Wanda and he has been with her ever since. He will not engage the girls if they try to exclude Wanda. Like he really loves her and stands by her. He basically said that she saved him.

Even in the Toni lifetime movie they portrayed Evelyn to Joe Jackson. She has some type of mental pull on them all still.

What role did the daddy play in all this? Yall go hard against the women and always give the men a pass. And he hasn’t exactly been a great role model. IJS

That’s easier said than done. This woman snuck around with Ms. E’s husband for 9 YEARS while presenting herself as a friend of the father’s and family’s. When she got tired of being the side piece she posed as a hotel employee and called Ms. E. to tell her Braxton had left an item at the hotel…so she’d know he was having an affair. Of course, Braxton lied as most men do.

When Ms. E did some digging she found out it was Ms. Wanda all along. 30 days after the divorce was final Braxton married his “friend,” Ms. Wanda and the courts didn’t even make him pay alimony. She was essentially left with NOTHING after 6 kids and upteen years of marriage. That’s a lot of shit to swallow.

And while I’m all for moving on, folks do that at their own pace. Those girls are NOT going to rub Ms. Wanda in their mother’s face given the history…just like Beyonce and Solange ain’t looking up their daddy’s outside kids and jumpoffs to rub in Ms. Tina’s face. That’s the price the sidepiece pays for playing a role in helping to break up a marriage. It’s what happens when a woman comes in through the back door…she’s always considered BACK DOOR material, which is why those girls don’t fuck with Ms. Wanda.

I think there is something with the power Ms.E has over all the sisters except for Traci. Trina’s version of bashing may of been hard truths Iyanla wanted her to address that Trina either felt in denial about or didn’t want to own up to due to that deep rooted fear they all have of hurting or offending Ms.E. I do not believe Iyanla wanted her to spill “dirt” on Evelyn. She wouldn’t still be in business if that was how she made moves. Word in the industry gets out fast.

How does she set a horrible example? While her husband was out screwing around she was at home raising her children. Nobody is perfect. And Ms. E. does NOT like Iyanla. She was just fine with TD Jakes and Ms. Sherry (the first therapist). But like she said, these are GROWN ASS WOMEN. They have been sisters all their lives. The real problem is that errrrbody is trying to be a “star,” and they’re losing sight of what’s most important…FAMILY.

The most telling moment of this episode was Trina’s confessional. She said Iyanla wanted her to basically diss Ms. E when she and Gabe did Fix My Life and she wasn’t going to do that. I agree, the success of the show has brought some unwanted emotions and problems for them but you don’t think they had problems before? I feel like a lot has been swept up under the rug and this process with Iyanla is going to bring some things to the forefront. If there were some things that happened to them or in front of them as youngsters and it was never dealt with, it has caused them to grow to be the women they are today. I think she wants Ms. E to stay (along with their father) so they can see where the breakdown began. Everyone can put on a front like everything is ok in front of other people but without dealing with some things, they’ll never have a true and genuine relationship with each other. There were problems before the cameras started rolling.

That would’ve meant she had to be open & honest about herself.

What bothered me is the way the feel of the whole show, it was like watching something real in anyone’s life. When there are so many secrets and so much held back for so long. There were moments I wanted to walk away. Other times there were a lot of learning moments for me it needed to be like this for all the BS to stop at least for a day . And let’s see what is left to savage. There is a long time of hurt and people hurting each other. There lives were too sheltered too much and now in there womanhood and marriage and divorces.
Maybe it wasn’t what they wanted but at the same time it was everything that needed to happened to at least release what was holding them back for so long. I think mother Evelyn at this moment in her life can’t be there all the time. Know this she a season an half ago she resulted in a stroke and many strokes that left her disable sort of her motor skills are slower now. And she’s not getting any younger. What she was able to put up with now she can’t be in everything now. So the sisters really have to dive deep within themselves and find what will work for each other. Daddy is getting old too. Traci was right about that, they need there golden years to be the time for them to reflect and be the elders they have to be. They can’t raise them anymore then what they are now grown women. Tough love is the hardest but only thing left for this to be saved at this point. So I do get mama Evelyn is saying. She’s tired and needs to be in the background watching just as supported as she’s been. They have to to do it themselves. Including Papa Michael Braxton, Sr.

Saw the show last night and was spellbound by all what was happening it was raw all the way. Iyania wasn’t having it with production or the sisters including the parents. It seemed that if there is a need for help you got to want to be helped. You can’t expect GOD or someone like Iyania or anyone to help if you don’t set down an listen. You got to get yourself together and want to listen and go through the hard stuff to free all that guilt and free yourself of what wasn’t your fault or your fault.
The beginning it was good, but I do see what I see in the comments that the mother Everlyn and Tamar do have the same behavior towards the help that is needed for the sisterhood. But from the start there was something stemming from something there was something they were holding back. And not everything came out which may have to be done in private more then on a reality show to the public. I don’t think they should step away, this is the closes that I’ve seen the sisters in a real setting here with Iyania Vanzant. More then anyone every did, but there is definitely something going on that kept that from being all of them in the room with Iyania. But Iyania kept it real at the end of last night broadcaast. Just that ending bothered me, also why isn’t the brother Michael Braxton Jr. not there with the family. That was odd too, but overall I want them to continue with this reality show if there anything to save especially the sisterhood.

I don’t know why they have singled out Iyanla when EVERY counseling session this family has had has basically said the same thing… “You guys have horrible communication skills that was learned during the divorce.” They need to learn how to communicate…PERIOD. And the parents have to apologize for teaching them that and move on. That’s a problem w/ some in the people that are at the age of 60s-70s plus. When you try to tell them to be held accountable for their behavior, they go off and etc. Ms. E’s behavior reflected some of the behavior that we’ve seen the other Braxtons.

Girrrrl, Stop. Tamar is a grown ass woman. Yes they picked up behaviors from their mother and their father like the rest of us. But all of them are not children anymore.
Tamar need to stop over acting and humble herself and get on board with the healing. It’s her fault for how she continues to act, knowing she got issues. Even Ms E was having to tell Tamar to cool it and listen. And Ms Evelyn dont even want to be there.
Tamar need to put on her big girl panties and do her part in the healing process, And Toni need to be apart of the healing process & show up! if she really wants their sisterhood to work. Show up like you are suppose to.
Everyone has to do their part as individuals and as a Family unit if they want their family to began a road of healing they all will have to be truthful and humble for it to start working.

Toni dont like picking sides and probably always feel stuck in the middle being the oldest girl and the oldest sibling. And the sisters usually run to Toni when the sisters are in trouble or have a issue with one another.
All of them are very protective of their Mother and is scared to tell the truth to her because of her feelings. When they say they are protective of their parents, they Mean their Mother.

Yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly! Evelyn’s attitude was extremely nasty. If that’s the woman she’s been in front of her girls, that’s the women they’ll grow to be. I’m not putting total blame on her because they are grown but She needs to take some ownership. Both she and Michael Sr. have shown them how to function in dysfunction. It’s funny that she’s always saying she wants them to all be close again yet she won’t commit to staying and being a part of the healing process. Like you said, we have to be TRULY ready to clean up our vessel and I don’t think Evelyn or Tamar is truly ready.

Maybe I need to watch the second half before I make this statement but I don’t see what Iyanla did wrong. Evelyn was completely rude and stubborn and they arrived LATE! Let’s be clear the mother gave birth to the behavior and never corrected it.
