BET seemingly have been on the grind lately to come up with programming that is cheap to produce, unoriginal, and boring.. and so far they’ve been doing an excellent job at achieving that. So once again instead of investing more money into creating something fresh and innovative, their keeping their trend of thrifty programming going strong with the airing of their new series ”BET Life of..” that’s kind of a watered down version of TVOne’s “Unsung” series..
The show will focus of the careers of Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, and Trey Songz but won’t feature any new exclusive interviews with the artists, it will instead air a bunch of old BET clips from the past that we’ve all seen a million times plus additional commentary from a few random associates of the artist. Check out the trailer below..
Each episode also features commentary and one-on-one interviews with some of the industry’s most influential entertainers, television and movie stars, former BET hosts, music executives and the people who worked behind the scenes to create the featured artists best and most memorable on-air moments. -BET
“BET is so fortunate to have been there since the beginning with these amazing artists. It’s been fun looking back at the early years of these superstars; many of whom have their very first look on BET. Through this show you’ll get nostalgic, but also realize the work, dedication and growth to today of your favorite performers.” – Stephen G. Hill, President of Programming.
