Queen Latifah gets brand new daytime talk show

Hip-Hop royalty Dana Owens aka Queen Latifah had her own talk show, The Queen Latifah Show, from 1999 until 2001 when it was unceremoniously cancelled due to lukewarm ratings. The talk show was like a Ricki Lake and Oprah hybrid, it addressed a lot a serious social issues but it also had its babymama drama segments as well, overall it was a pretty good program and was gaining popularity at a steady pace but just not fast enough for the networks to salvage it.

Latifah still went on to do various movies and other projects after the talk show was axed and seldom spoke on the show’s cancellation or her feelings about it. The Queen’s silence may have been golden since now it appears that she has been secretly plotting her daytime television comeback once again with the relaunch of The Queen Latifah Show that is set to debut September 16th…

The new show will be produced by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith along with Corin Nelson and it already has industry heavy hitters like Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz on board. Check out some of The Queen Latifah Show below and tune in to the new relaunch on September 16th..
